Example #1 (Process Automation Software) A custom window manufacturer is required to submit detailed drawings with each price quotation. Because of the volume of quotations received, they employ four full-time draftsmen using a Windows based CAD program to make the drawings.
Enter DCM Consulting who created a custom program that mimics the normal process the draftsmen use to create the drawing. Using a parameter based interface and custom CAD translation software, the same drawing can be created by our software in less than 1 minute, instead of the normal 2 or 3 hours they spent to create the exact same drawing. After deploying this solution, the company was able to relocate three of the four employees to other departments leaving one to run our software creating all the drawings.
Example #2 (Automated Data Analysis Software) One company utilized the popular program Microsoft® Excel ® to group and analyze data from individual sales. Each month, the user imported 16,000 records, and using Excel functions sorted, grouped, and totaled various columns. This process took an experienced user approximately 16 hours to complete because of the quantity of records.
The custom software we developed processed the same data, interfaced with Excel, creating the desired sorting, and totals in approximately 30 seconds! In addition to time savings, the program’s artificial intelligence performed automatic data validation of every piece of data ensuring that it fell within customer-specified validation rules.
