IntelliQuote is a computer-aided cost estimating program designed to calculate the costs associated with producing a product or providing a service. The program helps you to define the amount of hours and cost of purchased materials needed to produce the quote to send to the customer. This powerful program runs on your desktop computer or the convenient Palm Size computers.
Why bother using IntelliQuote to create accurate cost estimates?
Besides allowing you to quote Time for each labor operation, the "Wizard" system allows you to create a customized series of questions to prompt you through the entire quoting process. For example, instead of calculating in your head the number of hours required to setup to drill a series of holes in a piece of steel, using the "Wizard" , you may define questions such as: "How many different size holes are there ?" For each labor operation you define, you may have up to 12 "Wizard" questions assigned to prompt you through the features of the operation. The same "Wizard" system applies to calculating the cost of purchased materials. For example, in the case of a metal fabrication company: To calculate the cost of a piece of aluminum, you could set up the wizard to ask the following questions: "How wide is the part ? " "How long is the part ? " "What is the material thickness ?" You can pre-define other constants such as the weight per cubic inch of aluminum, and the cost per pound for aluminum. With this information, after answering the questions, IntelliQuote will calculate the cost of the material for the part you are quoting.
To view details on the workings of IntelliQuote, you may browse a copy of the Help file that is included with the program.
Each time you save the quote, IntelliQuote creates three different reports: Quote: Designed to send to the customer. Estimate: A report containing all of the details of the quote. Work Order: A report designed to provide your employees with a description of the quote without showing them the dollar values. Download a sample of the reports automatically created when you save the quote. (The files are in the "RTF" format which can be opened by a wide variety of word processors, including the Windows "WordPad" or "Write" program.) Download Now (3 KB "Zip" file)
